Sugar House LUZ report June 2009Hearings/Open HousesJune 25 - Foothill Stake - there is an administrative hearing in room 126 at 5:00 requesting special exception approval for two ground-mounted utility boxes. I'm not clear if this is part of the electrical for the new stake building, or they are also adding two DSL boxes while they do the renovation. June 25 – Open House for Westminster College in room 126 at 5 p.m. seeking approval for the ground mounted utility box that will upgrade service to the Shaw Center (student union) June 25 – Open House (in the first floor hallway 430-600) conditional use for two ground mounted utility boxes, one small and one medium, at 2864 Melbourne Street. At the PC meeting last week, the PC agreed to let staff look at an alternate site, and this is the new site, across the street, in a wider part of the road. This is the location the neighbors favored. Hopefully this open house will allow any opposition to surface, otherwise I anticipate that it will be on an administrative hearing agenda soon. Still in the Queue - View of Valley on 21st and View Street Construction Started – Urbana on 11th East Updates - The Redman Building is open. There are two businesses in the building, the Pacific Group, and a fast money broker. The first three floors will be for office space, the rest of the floors will be condos. Three floors have two to four units, and the top floor has four penthouse units, which are two-story units. The space is shelled, when the units are sold, the buyer will work with the developer to flesh out the arrangement and finishing of each unit. SLC ZONING CODE TABLES OF PERMITTED USES When someone comes before the community council to ask us to endorse a project they want to build, many times they want to have the parcel rezoned, or they want to change the use of the existing building. We wonder what uses are allowed in that zone. I have gotten a very readable spreadsheet describing each type of zone (Residential, Commercial, Manufacturing, Special Purpose, Gateway, and Downtown) from the city, and will email them to the trustees. These should be added to your home computer folder where the files from your orientation disk reside. The Planning and Zoning website has the zoning code, ((http://www.sterlingcodifiers.com/codebook/index.php?book_id=672) but the tables are confusing because they are much wider than the computer screen. These are more readable.------------ For Planning Information, go to www.slcgov.com/ced/planning There is a link to Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment agendas. This is where you can sign up to get automatic emails from the city for these agendas. The monthly Planning Division newsletter is on this site.
