The purpose of the Land Use & Zoning Committee is to work with the city planner assigned to Sugar House and educate SHCC on land use and zoning issues in the Sugar House area. Facilitate presentation of individuals required to come before the SHCC for zoning concerns including, but not limited to: - Unit legalization
- Antennas
- Conditional use permits
- PUD's
- Variances
- Zoning changes
Make recommendations to SHCC on zoning changes requested by individuals at the time of presentation to SHCC by applicant.

A Sugar House Land Use Committee meeting was held August 16, 2010. Present were Judi Short, Chair; Derek Payne, Russ Callister , Lynne Olson, Jan Brittain, Lance Bullen, Aabir Malik, and Rawlins Young. Wilmington Gardens was the subject of the meeting. Derek Payne showed slides of the shadow study they undertook to determine whether their building would impact Hidden Hollow. In summer, there is virtually no impact. In spring and fall, there is very little shadowing. |

The committee met on June 21, 2010. Those present were Judi Short, Aabir Malik, Derek Payne, Larry Migliaccio, Carl Harris, Elaine Brown, Dave Mulder, Grace Sperry, Susan Marco and Lance Bullen. The group from Wilmington Gardens presented the changes they had made as they begin to work through an actual design of the project. They will have a booth at the July 3 Arts Festival, and have asked to be on the August agenda of the SHCC. |

The group from Woodbury Mixed Use project presented the changes they had made to the project since it was last seen at the Sugar House Community Council on September 2, 2009. |
